Wow i guess its been awhile since i done one of these. I really doubt anybody remembers what Bigcreek has for equipment. But im going to go ahead and put up pictures of the recent purchases. Its been kind of an expensive summer. to much old iron decided to show its age this year. I also have pictures of some activity around the farm here recently.
In the heat of the summer we put up a little building at the new pens to keep feed wagons and loader tractor from dragging mud up the driveway all winter
Here i caught a photo of the 7140 and the new field cultivator firming up a seed bed ahead of the 2294 drilling some alfalfa
the guys got the old feed truck running to deliver creep feed this summer
lately we have been pleanty busy putting up alfalfa and feed.
We managed to get the big rain we had been waiting for not long after swathing quite a lot of feed. So we had little option but to go and buy a rotary rake.
while we waited for the fields to dry up we early weened some calves and brought them home.
the 12 was put on the feed wagon it had been getting quiet "fun" to operate. the powershift is most likely on its way out again. But it was decided it would hold out a little longer on the feed wagon than shuffling bales around. But when we took it down to the shop for an oil change we got a milky surprise.
being short on tractors at this point is never a good thing. Especsialy with wheat planting around the corner we will need auger tractors to get wheat out for the seed buisness. The old 856 was sold last spring after she developed a knock and a nieghbor came buy said he wanted it as is. So the decision was made to buy a MXU 100
Here i caught the swathers moving home after laying down the last of the feed.
we decided to get out of the tub grinding buisness this winter so the truck mounted grinder was sold to the guy we had hired to run it the last couple years. and we bought a new PTO grinder.
the John Deere was traded in on a new puma
With the last of the soybeans having been sprayed we put the big tires back on the sprayer
cleaning pens
the shop is getting busy now with the 12 in the way and one combine in getting looked over before bean harvest. the drills are drug up beside the shop to looked over also.
the old MX220 was finally shipped down the road. With close to 12k hrs it was time to part ways
hopefully her replacement will be a much better tractor. Unloaded her and went straight to the field incorperating fertilizer.
here are few shots of the hectic circus around the shop of guys picking up seed wheat.
thanks for looking any comments welcome.
