The last few weeks have been very busy on the farm. Since the end of August we have – finished third crop hay, seeded wheat and started chopping corn silage. The last of the hay was dry bladed due to very nice weather we had the last week and a half. With the ground not being overly dry, we were able to work up and plant about 50 acres of wheat. Also, as of the 19th, we are down to one silo needing to be filled yet. By the end of the month, corn silage should be all wrapped up for the year. The normal chores were also done during this time, like always. Never a dull or boring moment on the farm. Getting the fields ready for the wheat. Went in together with Phil on getting some wheat seed in bulk. We used our truck to haul it. Will headed out to do some more chopping as Frank worked at seeding. I started rolling as soon as Frank was done seeding. Frank took over for my wife hauling loads to the silo. We have the new H&S blower set up. The old NH is in good shape, but keeping it as a backup is a good idea. A neighbor came over to pick up the Turbo Till to try out. We are thinking of getting a new disc instead of keeping the Turbo. Decided the chopper needed a quick wash after the haybine. Not done with it yet, but it needed a washing. Hauled out manure from the piles when we could. A little early, but we got the stalk chopper in the shop already. Plow out, hooked up and ready to plow under the acres spread with manure. Loading up on some haylage for feeding. Checking out the deer stand. Questions and comments welcome.

Is that a Wishek disk? also where did you get the FP240? I love it, all it needs is a Dion Kemper head and it can mow through the corn like butter

thebaz - Its actually a Great Plains Turbo Till. I got the FP240 from Scratch Cast. They also offer a Kemper head for it.

Where did you get the grain truck from?

I built it. It started out as a Spec Cast straight box truck, removed the box and added a grain bed kit from Rockinh farmtoys. I repainted the cab and painted the grain bed after I glued it together.
