That's right, it's back. Seeding has been wrapped up for a few weeks and activity has slowed down around the farm after a busy and wet spring. The sprayer is still running hard trying to cover the 9,500 acres the farm managed to get seeded this year out of their 10,000. The entire spray rig is back at the farm to load up on chemical, water, fuel and some quick maintenance. The roller is also back for fuel, it is also running hard to get all the lentils rolled before they get to tall. Both air-seeders and cultivators are parked waiting to get through the shop before being parked for the season. The head mechanic is just trying to clear equipment out from around the shop to make room to maneuver the large tillage equipment around easier. The old, and well used, Degelman rockpick is nearly done getting patched up and a couple trucks were due for regular service. Part of what has taken me so long, aside from life outside toys, was the farms grain storage system, a 400,000bushel elevator. It would have been bought in the early 90's from the Wheat Pool and moved to the farm a few years later when branch rail lines started being closed and torn up. The thing is huge, the main elevator is 24" long 18" high and 12.5" wide, counting the office 20" wide. Add in the drying complex the entire setup is 44" long. The final bill was almost double what I had planned. ] If you are wondering about Tring Road across the road, um... well... It started out as a plan to rebuild the shop and spiraled out of control... I guess I am just not happy without a major project. :-(

That sprayer truck looks great. Is the 815 combine going to be used on Tring?

A quick end of June update: Two guys have been keeping busy ripping out fence lines, tree lines and rock piles trying to make the land more efficient for the larger equipment the farm is moving towards. The Friggstad has been parked in front of the shop for the last couple days getting worked over with new shovels and a few new wheel bearings and hydraulic hoses.

holy chisel plow man ive never even seen a model that big what do you pull it with two 535s or something other wise i like the volvo grain truck there I think there is 107 models of those friggstads and that is all there ever will be, the molds wore out and Larry said he is never doing another one, that is #105 of the run. It is only 80' a 535 can manage.

Was the fella who built your harrows from Foam Lake? He used to set up at Saskatoon in the late 90's and had harrows, 1682 combines and a whole bunch of stuff made from mostly balsa wood. I think his name was Victor Leppe or leopke. Not sure of his last name. The reason I remember is I have one of his 1682's, and it was a toss up when I bought it whether to buy a Degelman heavy harrow or a combine.

I could never get in contact with him after the last time I saw him at a show when I picked up the harrows, tried calling him a few times with a couple no answers and a couple times talking to a very grumpy guy who told me "it wasn't his job to keep track of where everyone is, when they would be back or to give them messages"
