Its coming to life, Did you use plaster cloth on the base? Looks like it smoothed out pretty well.

It's a good idea to paint it before you put stuff down, like a light tan under gravel and a light green under the grass. It doesn't have to be crazy bright or anything. Just enough so that if you get a little light with the ground cover in spots it isn't super obvious. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that this works well.

What would be the best type of paint for an undercoat?

What would be the best type of paint for an undercoat? I use earth tones of flat acrillic hobby paint from Walmart or hobby lobby, and just use browns becaues grass being light in areas would expose dirt, I made the mistake of using greens under the grass I used and wish I wouldn't have

Good point with not using greens Tony, I wouldn't have thought of that until after I did it and didn't like it lol

Everything looks good and seems like you're making progress. I do have a question for you. You said you coated the base foam with dry wall mud. Curious as to why? I have a project in mind but watching yours to learn from before I start.

I have a project in mind but watching yours to learn from before I start. Well I used it for 3 reasons, its cheap, its availability here locally, and finally it dries hard but flexible enough that if it fell its less likely to crack. Also the fact its made to be painted helps alot too. -Tyler

Well I got the buildings on and the basic landscaping, still need to add a garden, the walkways, along with trees and power poles. Also Meyeres Farms doesn't have a shop so im trying to figure out an alternative or just make it a part of the story line.
