Hey you guys this is Bryan again ;D Just wondering if you guys with displays can show some pictures of your grain systems. It doesn't matter if they are still in the works, if they use legs, use the traditional swing/straight auger, maby even pictures of your real grain storage systems (even your local elevator setup). Plans Leg Elevator

Hey Chris thanks for the pictures, that is quite a few unique setuups..... I wanted to start this thread just so the people on this forum could see how everybody else farm, along with their different concepts for grain management.
I hope to get some pictures of our grain setup on eventually, but we don't start harvest until late August early September
Thanks Bryan

Thanks for all of those pictures farmerguy, have you actually built any of the designs? or are you planning to build them for displays?

I've made about half the layouts on there for other people, and the other half is all my past designs. I'm working on a new one right now, just haven't gotten far enough along to make a "blueprint" of it I guess. I change my mind a lot. LOL

a few interesting ones that arent to far from here circular setup (auger pivots in circle to reach all bins, requires good layout maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=39.392644,-100.878096&spn=0.003574,0.009624&t=h&z=17 The metal building seen is actually a grain storage area. Basically its a silage pit dug into a hillside with a metal roof over it (I have one in the works for the display, i will get some pictures and a design of it on here later) maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=39.378397,-100.52649&spn=0.003574,0.009624&t=h&z=17 What used to be 2 elevators on different sides of the highway, now both are owned by one large company (horrible idea) and with no competition it very much sucks. maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=39.345989,-100.441239&spn=0.003576,0.009624&t=h&z=17 Thats all I got for now, some pictures and drawings will be up later.

Right on you guys! hopefully we will be able to see more designs/systems. A good buddy of mine has a family farm just down the road.... I think the last time I chequed they were farming around 14 - 15000 acres with no leg system.... they only have hopper bottom bins, most of them are 10000 bushels..... they seed with 2 Cat MT865B's with 80 foot seedmasters, and a 75 foot bourgault followed by bourgault 6550, 6450 tanks along with anhydrous... for harvest they run 3 Cat Lexion 580R's with 3 Volvo semis pulling a super B, and three tridem trailers..... to follow the combines around they have a MT865B on a Bourgault 1200 grain cart.... it is almost a must see operation (kinda hectic around there though

Hey Sean that looks good.... the space between the rows of bins could be closed up a bit.... I know its hard to design alot, it will look better when it is done Do you have a concept of oval bins out now haha jk

LOL, Its kinda dumb cause on the paint program I use doesnt have a circle option, just a ellipse (oval) option.............when I was all done and looked at the gap between the two rows I was lik e"ah man, thats too far apart" lol.I wanna try to keep the whole thing under 3 foot wide and 6 foot long.

Sean, if you hold down the "Shift" key on your keyboard while drawing a ellipse on paint, it will automatically make it a perfect circle. Heres what I have so far, havnt gotten around to drawing the unloading systems. The bins on the far left are for seedwheat which is why they are on a completely seperate grain system (not the leg). Bins in the middle and on the right are for corn, milo, and sunflowers. This is just a concept (especially the entrance and where the scale is located) i still havnt figured how this is going to fit onto the display (or if :S ) And the above mentioned hillside storage unit. Holds about 400,000 bushels of corn when full, havnt decided what system to use to fill it (grain leg or augers or conveyors) or empty it (grain vac, underground conveyors) Has since had most landscaping done and plastercloth added . Still need to find some more plywood to add to the bottom of the "hill" to make a bigger spot for trucks (very tight turns )

That looks like a good start Austin... make sure to keep us updated with progress pics, that will surely turn out to be a unique system If you guys haven't noticed, I have a post on the work bench threat with some things I am hoping to build, you should check it out (sorry Austin for using this as a notification... just came to my mind when I was typing )

No worries about the notification Bryan, I seen your stuff there and it looks like you have some very good ideas, I built one of those all steer wagons once, didnt like how it turned out so its been robbed of parts and sits on the shelf of "mishaps and projects gone wrong"
Sean, that truck is tiny compared to the ones I will be using, T800 Kenworth triple axles with 53 ft triple axle grain trailers :} I dont think ill be able to make the turn, I didnt plan it out the best and made the paths narrow so the trucks cant line up very well.
I think im going to add some more plywood to the bottom area and make it go out in both directions ( left and outwards), add a grain leg, pit, and hopper bin and then finish it up.
