As far as I know they don't know what caused it. The guy went to lunch and it started while he was gone.

Just a guess but their are no shields on the hood to prevent straw and stuff to get onto the manifold on the right side. We have has smoldering corn cobs in there after harvest so possibly some straw got up in there? We have a habit of walking around there every once in a while to check.
I guess it had saddle tanks on it and they completely melted?
I actually think the only possible thing that can be saved is the front weights.
Keep us updated on this

Keep us updated on this Austin Well when i took plastics, fire can effect different types of plastic differently. it may have burned up as there is nothing showing that they melted. Plus the chemicals in the tanks could have burned the tanks right up to. But the good thing is nobody was in the tractor. They wouldn't have made it out of the tractor with the saddle tanks on it.

I am sure if they would have been running it they would have been able to get out. I really doubt it got that big that fast. If he wouldn't have been at lunch he may have been able to put it out before it got out of hand.
