Oh cool, there are a few of those old Whites running around. Glad you saw one in action and got pics. I know what you mean trying to catch that one combine in action. I chased after the Old Gleaner M for years and finally got pics of him in action.
Many thanks for getting up those old pics of that White in action. My area used to have a few of them back in the day. I used to see a few in action, and when the later 80s hit. I saw a few over at the JD or Gleaner dealers getting traded in.

Cool pics! I was hoping to get some pics of my uncle harvesting beans with his 860, but didnt..
Nice too see more old machinery being used! Up here (Im only bout 45 minutes north of Scale Farmer) the old combines are being traded in, all Masseys being traded in on Massey's, 8780's seem to be the big hit, 3 550's were traded in, and 2 860's were traded in, and a 510 was also traded.....

Nice pictures. Why is he dropping the straw? If my eyes aren’t deceiving me it looks like he is leaving a lot of beans in the field on the short stems.

Nice pictures. Why is he dropping the straw? If my eyes aren’t deceiving me it looks like he is leaving a lot of beans in the field on the short stems. Well it could be due to a couple reasons. I have heard some do bale up soy bean straw from a combine. I never saw it in my area, but heard about it. Other reason could be the chopper is broken and he hadn't took time to find another. Plus finding some parts for this combine is kinda rough. Since they hadn't been built over 30 years, and after the company was bought out like 2 times since then. There is a farmer near me uses a Gleaner F. The chopper got trashed when the bearings went out and sent the blades into it. He never bother to replace it. So you see small windrows from his soys and corn. I noticed the lot of beans still standing too. I'm thinking could be the header is getting in rough shape. My only thought on that.

They bale the straw. Looks like it might have been plugging a little.

I am thinking that the clumps of straw are from the small amount of bean vines that the straw walkers have to deal with that it builds up a little bit until they have enough to throw it out the back end
