Another Question :)

I am recently kinda changing my carpet display into a dairy one. I was wondering if i should the combine adn grain cart off. Most dairys you see now a days don't have combines. I was thinking about taking the combine and stuff to my dads and starting another carpet display there. Would that be a good idea or not. I am also looking for ideas on how to buil a free-stall barn. So any pictures or comments would be helpfull.

Well you could go a couple ways:

Most large dairy farms around here are divided up in sections/departments, animals, Field work, and shops so you could have one family member in charge of the herd, another in charge of field work, and another for the shop. This would fit in with your dad having a combine down the road at another farm.

If the family just wants to concentrate on cows then a custom service could come in for chopping, baling, and grain harvest.

Those are just my thoughts that would fit in what you're looking for.

I also have an ertl grain bin set should I leave it the dairy or take it to my dads?

Depends what you're going to store in it. If it'd be corn have the set up at the dairy farm to store corn to grind it for feed. If its going to be a larger dairy farm most farmers have feed bins with pre grounded and mixed feed.

hey Ricky you just got all the grain bin sets and stuff, i would make part of it harvest so that you can still fill those new bins, than you do not have to buy feed for the cows. make it a small harvest opperation
