Have any of you ever used kitty litter as gravel?

Yes,
but you have to watch out what kind you use, some pieces are pretty big compared to 1:64th scale and some kitty liter has those blue "diamonds" in it. For a more expensive look go with ballast, for a cheaper more real look take an old flour sifter find some gravel and sift into a bucket or container, you get small pebbles and sand with it.

yea i used kitty litter on my display last year and it worked ok but on the grass matts it likes to stick so it is not esy to fix if you mess up your road or change your mind

I use ballost, if I used cat litter Id have cat sh$t and pi$$ all through it.......I have a few cats that like to get up on the display and lay down on it, lol.
