Hey everyone
It's been a slow winter this year with little to do in the cold and snow. But now with the ground thawed out and non-salted roads we have been laying the hammer down on a couple big projects
The first project is gutting out an older house on a farm we purchased in May. We dont actually do the work, due to our other project but someone still has to be around to clean up the mess and what not.
On to the pics:
The house: We are going to rent it out as a single-family home as I am not old enough to live on my own unfortunatly
The one and only barn on the farm, probably the nicest I have ever seen in my life at this age.
It's great for storage. Can't put a lot of stuff in there but the roof doesnt leak or sag and the floor is in great shape
Seed tenders on the left and right, fert. tender in the middle
Baler
Home-made 1,000 gallon nurse trailer
Someone's boat we're storing.....wish it was mine
Neat little iron bridge that needs a little bit of work
Had to haul all of the old plaster, carpet, floorboards, etc. to a burn site with the IH S1900 (gas)
Someone left the key on, wasnt me for once!
Dump site...half of the load was frozen inside from sitting out in the frost all night
Old barn that we took down a few years back
Now on to the BIG project....
After our very looooooooong drawn out corn harvest last year due to our very, very, very slowwwwwww in-bin dryer, we decided to go to a continuous flow dryer. We will still run the in bin dryer just to fill our largest bin and then run the new dryer to fill the silos
I'll explain as I go...
The only feasible place to put this dryer was basically on top of an old manure pit, west of the barns. Due to the lack of soil and the manure-soak soil that was there, we had to scrape it all out and put gravel in.
I was shuffling trucks all day, as well as some bulldozing but no pics of that.
Putting the ol' Binder to good use. It acutally has a hoist and box sides for hauling grain, we put these small racks on for hauling bales, nurse tanks, and..well...this.
I was running the one S1900(diesel) for a good portion of the day. Got it kinda stuck after lunch. It is a very heavy truck and had a lot of dirt in it and it sucked itself right off the road
Had to get the 9330 over to drag me out, should have got pics of it but its hard to do when youre trying to drag yourself out of a very muddy ditch
Go big or go home >=)
I know they arent the most exciting but its the best I could do under pressure
Questions and comments welcome
