Why did Ertl make different hood designs for the 1/64 Case IH magnum tractors. They make extended hood versions and short hood versions. I want to know why they did this because I have never seen different variations of hoods on the real magnum tractors.

There actually is a short and long version in some of the earlier series. I dont know the exact point or the reason but it exists.

The end result was the short hood. It was a good choice on Case IHs part. I haven't seen a long nosed Magnum ever. But if i see one i'll try to take a pic of it.
