We are already started first cutting of hay. I will try to take some pics. it will be mostly of me tedding hay as thats what i do. I won't see the rake or chopper at all. But i will try to get some pit packing as well.
Have any of you guys started your first cutting?

Holy man! We wont be starting with haying for another... 2 and a half months.. we havnt even started with seeding yet... but i think that its goin to be a good year because of the rain that we have been getting the past 5 days.

I would say we are about 2 to 3 weeks from the first alfalfa cutting here. It will be here before we know it.

It'll be the end of the month before anybody around here starts cutting any hay.

Wow you guys are way ahead of us too, it will probably be another 3 weeks before we are cutting hay here.

Yeah i still work on the dairy. We were all suprised on how well the yields off the fields were. Getting good tonage off the fields into the bunk. We have 1000 arces on the main farm and the organic farm we have 500 to mow, ted, rake and chop. Everything was headed out already. thats why we started so early. Right now its almost 12 in the morning on saturday and we are getting hammered with rain which is stopping us for tomorrow now. Sunday i don't know about yet. Monday i know we will be right back at it.
But we usually don't start for another 1 to 2 weeks yet, but with the rain and early frost helped us out a lot.

There's alot of guys cutting hay out here. Saw our neighbor out with the Bi-directional yesterday. ~TREY~

Chopping 7th of May. Last Load. Pic of last load being chopped. 7th of May. Packing the hay pile, on the 6th of May.

We could anytime but the 4440 is on the auger and we dont feel like unhooking it... lol that and it rains every 3 days! We always start round may or so.

we strted cutting about 2 weeks ago when we hooked the mower up to the 7700 my boss was seing if it was cutting good and ended up cutting about 30 acres, then next week it poured now we are bout to start round baling to keep wagons free for tobbacca plants. my other boss called me today and said he had a buddy that was short handed and needed some help we put up about 787 bales out of 6 +/- acres the hay was thick took bout 3 hours but had to wait on a wagon and had some twine probnlems

Well we finished Wednesday. So now its a at least a week to 10 days before we get stuff going again.
