2nd cutting of alfalfa.

I finished the second cutting of alfalfa yesterday. It was nice hay but wasn't all that heavy for all the rain we have had. The first couple of pics are of my friend Mike swathing some of his hay. I was getting ready to take over so I caught some pics while I was waiting for him to make it back around to the edge.


Here is the rig parked at our place after I finished swathing our hay. I didn't get any action pics because I did most of it in the dark.

Here is the raking rig. My 1941 A and our NH rake.

The 730 is on the square baler. The baler worked really well. I didn't get any pics of it in action because we were done with it before my wife got out and took some pics.


The 4020 and 510.

How does that 510 work for you?

It has been working pretty well. I wish it had wide belts on the outside. That is something we may have to do to it at some point. Our neighbor has one for sale that almost looks new. It is super nice. I would like to have it but ours was really cheap and it gets the job done and makes good bales.

You guys are really ahead of us down there, we just started our first cutting but that is because we got 6 inches of rain 2 weeks ago which put a pause on haying lol.

There was a lot of hay on the ground a couple of weeks ago when we got our big rain too. A lot of it was washed away and ended up in fence rows. It makes a heck of a mess.

Yeah it does look like it makes nice bales.
There seems to be quite a few decent crops around this year
