2010 wheat harvest action.

Harvest has been going strong for over a week here now. Until today that is. It is raining at the moment. I have around 120 pics to post so I will split it up into a few posts. Not all of the pics are the best. Most of them were taken from a moving truck.

This is Dustin's (774630 on the boards) combine.








There is also some other action going on that I caught some pics of as well. I think this one is most likely drilling cane.




This guy is swathing wheat that was hailed out.

This is my coops elevator in Prairie View Kansas.

There is some second cutting of alfalfa going on too.










My Dad retired from the Coop after 38 years there. He went to work for his friend that is a farmer. I caught a pic of there trucks on the side of the road. Dad is the one climbing out of the truck.











That is it for part one. There will be more to come. Sorry if some of the pics appear to have smudges. I tried to keep my windshield clean but it doesn't take long to get some big greasy bugs spots on it. ;D

i like the guy at the fuel station....ive took a tractor and planter through one but never a combine...

It is a pretty common site at the fuel station that I haul fuel to in Logan KS. You never know what you might see fueling up there.

I don't want to speak for Dustin but if they are all like that one I am amazed they are still in business. He is not a happy camper. It has been a major trouble maker.

Looks very busy in your area. We still have at least 4 weeks before wheat will roll here.

I tell ya what, that cat machine is the meanest combine Ive ever ran. the capacity is unbelievable. When it runs. we havent ran more than 8 hrs straight without a breakdown. only one of which was major the rest have been little pain in the a-- ones. I was runnin 6-7 mph in 70 bushel wheat with .2 fm and only 4 kernels per square foot out the rear. We've had alot of trouble though, and we lost are local dealer, we now have to work with a dealer 2hrs away, which is fine till it breaks and we have to get them to drive 120 mls to work on it. If not for that I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
