I was thinking the other day about if Case stuck with the old Steiger names for their current tractors. The 335 would be the wildcat, the 385 would be the cougar, the 435 would be the panther, the 485 would be called the lion, and the 535 would be the tiger. I just thought it would be a cool idea and wanted to hear other people's opinions.

im all up for names but in my opinion u need to get new names for em. Gota let the classics stand alone. When i hear those names i want to think of them big square beautiful green beasts not curved red ones.

Names are a good idea. I think names are way better than numbers.

I always like the equipment manufacturers that use names. That is my favorite thing about case tractors because you have names for all of the series like Farmall, Maxxum, Magnum, Puma and Steiger. I would like John Deere more if they had names for their series. I love how on the older steigers that the way you told the models apart was by the name and not the numbers. We used to have a Wildcat III ST210 until we traded it for a 9330. Maybe they could use something other than cats to name it to set apart the old and new steigers like you said farmallman. They could use bird names. Now that would be different.

I was thinking of Crow 335, Buzzard 385, Raven 435, Hawk 485, and Eagle 535. I could see a farmer telling his son, "Son, get the ol' Buzzard out out and hitch 'er up to cultivator".

Sure, how about you send the CEO of CNH an e-mail and tell him your thoughts!

That would be cool. I've seen some custom painted ones on the internet but never factory painted ones.
