That muffler looks awful. I think the grill looks sort of OK, but it could definitely look a lot better.

I know. That muffle is crazy. who wants to see that all day.. blockin the view. deere really done it now. I have always likes the individual round lights in the grille but that follow the curb of the grille lights look like a european tractor esspecially with the two lower round lights.

I know what you mean about European tractors. I hate how every brand looks like it is based off European design, I liked the old "square" designs.

yeah like the 8000 series and 10 series deeres. Deere must have an oversea's designer for the tractors.

I am guessing that the big exhaust is the particulate filter. The other oems are going with exhaust fluid and Deere is staying with the egr and particulate filters. I have also heard they are having a lot of fuel injector problems. If you get a new they say to make sure you run a premium diesel in them and not just plain old #2. Unless you like changing filters and injectors and having lots of down time.

I heard they do run the exhaust fluid( thats the big exhaust) and egr is what I heard from my buddy who know a bit about em. Mabyi heard him wrong. I know CIH is runnin the exhaust fluid and I know they dumped Cummins and goin with iveco now. they still have the 6.7l cummins in the smaller tractors though. every thing else is iveco. Sucks I kinda like the cummins.

I really don't give a crap of what they look like. It's all about how the perform. I think some of the new "technical" features will be a great help for some of the bigger farms. Trey

I don't know how this exhaust fluid is going to work. We learned about it some at a fuel meeting a couple of weeks ago. They told us it gels at 25 degrees and it freezes at 15. It doesn't like to be above 85 degrees either. Here in Kansas those temps are going to be a bit of an issue. Because we can go a month at a time and stay at or below 25 in the winter and we can stay above the high level for a month in the summer. I am really interested to hear some real world reports on how the stuff is going to work out. Plus it is another product you will have to buy and keep around. Stupid EPA. The stupid part is from what I have read a gas engine puts off way more deadly fumes than a diesel but the EPA doesn't like diesel because you can see their smoke is what it basically boils down to in my opinion.

The new Deeres are very ugly! I hate how the front sits so low. I like the aero design personally on alot of tractors, byt JD has pushed it to the limits... from what ive heard every manufacturer is having problems with the exhaust fluid and all that junk. Agco is having a few issues with the #2 fuel also......but no injector problems (here at least ) Sean

Hi
Looked over a new 8360R at the local farm Show the other day, the muffler ain't that bad looking in my opnion, and anyway it doesn't really matter to me what a tractor looks like as long as it performs and gets the crop in & out of the field. I had heard Deere was having issues with the new Tier engines in the NEW combines which was one of the reasons for the delay in the introduction.
