As of now, we're cutting soybeans and halfway through corn. Got 1000 acres more corn to go and about 2500 more acres of beans. No soybean pics yet, but just some random corn pics. Got a big video coming the end. The old 9760's been having some trouble this year. She keeps randomly powering-down. Don't know if it's electrical or an actual engine problem. She's pretty tired. Got an upgrade in pickups this fall. Got dad's 06' Duramax. Put a bully dog in her, hoping to do some other work on her to. Tyler cleaning up the 9870 before we move. Here's the link to the opening corn harvest thread. LOT's more pics.http://toytractortimes.com/messageboard/topic.html?id=47236#416058 Trey

Crappy video, Couldn't do a very good job driving. We were "chopping" irrigated corn.

That's too bad about the combine. Hope it gets fixed. Nice pics. Did the irrigated corn do better than the dryland corn?

You know we had a bad year when some of the dryland in our area averaged the same as yours lol. Anywhere from 50-120 on dryland up here depending on rotation and luck. I guess I just dont see how a 9760 is considered "old" junk maybe but old no

We have great lookin corn (dry, but it grew good) But all the corn that wasnt planted early has small ears on them..... thought it was only our sweet corn with short ears but when I started lookin at some corn it all had small ears too. All the large farms round here are bout done with beans, movin on to corn now.

I figured the dryland corn would be low but not that low. The most I've heard anyone average here in a good year was in the 190s. We were looking to have one of our best crops this fall until we had a drought at the end of July and received only 2" of rain and 100+ degrees each day for over two months. Was going to be in the 180s but now is only making somewhere between 130 to 150, which is decent for around here. We don't have irrigation where I'm at, so I'm not too familiar with how much it helps. We usually have to focus on draining water.

We had a good 1-2 critical months without rain so it burned it up pretty good. Trey
