305 heads on a 350 actually doesnt gain anything. For the most part, all 5.0 liter heads are poor smog heads, and if anything it slows down airflow rather than gaining compression.
If it were me, Id put a set of 83-88 Montecarlo SS HO 305 heads on. Same bore and have bigger valves and flow better than non HO heads on other 305's.
Option 2 would be Vortec heads, which flow great and are the best stock small block heads ever made, but they need a special intake manifold and machining. I dont suggest it though.
I dont know if its your first engine project or not, but I chose mine to be a 1980 Buick 3.8 turbo. Not only is there no aftermarket for it, but being a turbo motor with a carb and it being as complex as it was, it was a learning experience.

This is my first engine, so it definately is a learning experience

That is a very cool project. I know nothing about chevy motors (really I don't anything about gas. I'm a diesel man) but it sounds awesome.
A 4BT would be sweet in a tractor like that. pricey but very cool.
