Since Fiat owns Dodge. And Cummins is a direct competitor. They already did it to CNH by converting them over to IVECO.
I wonder when they will do the same to Dodge pickups? I can see them using IVECOs for engine power.

In my opinion if they pull the cummins out of the ram pickup. It will be the end of them. I think that engine is what saved that pickup brand from dying.

i thought ram was it's own company now? Still part of Chrysler and owned by Fiat. From Chrysler's website: © 2011 Chrysler Group LLC. All Rights Reserved. Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Mopar and the Pentastar logo are registered trademarks of Chrysler Group LLC. From reading other sources. They just created a brand based off it to use for their trucks. More like a sub brand. Like how Saturn, Pontiac, Oldsmobile was part of GM. Still same stuff.

yeah, but manufacturers have been using competitors parts forever. I mean GM and Toyota swapped parts with each other.

IMO Fiat should have left Case using Cummins, but prob for more profit they went with using another one of their sub-brand engines (IVECO POS) Atleast you could get parts fairly easy with the Cummins as they shared the same engines as other major brands in North America (ISB, QSX and the ISX engines) And Quinton, idk if you know this but Case IH is financailly controlled by Fiat...wich is BS IMO in the first place, but if its whats keeping Case IH goin then....

To me I rather have Cummins. As they are a well known name of engines. I know and can trust. Plus you can get parts for those in alot of places. And easier to find a person to help work on them when needed.
Iveco is an engine unknown to me, and I don't know nothing really about them. Heck most guys you ask around here if they heard of it. They be like what is that. Granted it might be a good engine to use.
But I rather take an engine brand I know and can trust. Just my take on this. Even though I never ran an Iveco yet on a tractor or combine. Where I have a Cummins. Once I been around an Ievco I could learn to like it. But until then I rather take a Cummins. At least is a better known name than one you never heard of until just a few years ago.

A local custom cutter had some engine issues on his 8010. It was down for over 2 weeks because the parts had to come from over seas to fix his Iveco engine. That would worry me a little if they don't have good parts availability.

ya i agree sean but cummings IMO is way better than iveco Either of you used a tractor with an Iveco engine? I havent driven one because both of our CIH dealers are 45 minutes away and Case isnt the brand of choice here. The only Case's here are older ones that have the Cummins in em. Sean

cummins is a good engine, I would like to see an american engine in an american tractor if you ask me. not this crap where you gotta fly it from over seas.
besides, Sam Elliot advertises it, so ya know it is legendary...........he's an honest fellow

reason Fiat Droped Cummins is Cause the Iveco is more fuel efficient. My boss said he had a New holland Combine with a cummins in it and he had few problems with it and it drank fuel.. Our new one has iveco in it and its got more hp and still uses the same if not less then the cummins did.. I Still would sacrifice a little fuel and ran a Cummins anyday.

the farm my grampa works for has had alot of trouble out of iveco engines in their magnum 305 they had to replace the hydrolic pump about a month after they got it and in my opinion i would rather have a feul drinkin cummins engine than a pos thats gonna be down for two week just to get parts
