We're already done combining and just about done first time cultivating, and have all our winter wheat in. I guess it's just the spring we had. What were the wheat yields?

How do you like your Bourgault grain cart? I've always thought they look a bit different with the turret style unload auger.

Nice pics. Is your lake starting to dry up?

The "lake" has dropped at least 16" if not 20" so when you think about the acreage it covers that a lot of water that's gone. That being said all it really means is that we're launching the Jet ski with a quad instead of a truck to get out into the soft mud further. It's still over 6' deep down the middle and 5' in most places. If we get anything close to an average run off next spring it'll be right back to where it was this past June. Guess I won't work it up this fall for spring seeding next year. The neighbors are gonna real start to dislike me now after yesterday. After I finshed cleaning up a few left over dabs of durum and moved the combine back home, emptied trucks, etc... I launched the Yamaha and headed across the water to where the neighbors were combining along the water. Just to make sure that they noticed we were done ;D. It's amazing how fast they got that field finished after I showed up on the water.... The Bourgault cart has really been a good purchase for us. I like the turret design personally. Cleans out well, good reliability, nothing to really complain about. The auger is set back farther than a corner auger obviously, but not a big deal to me. Just wish we had a pto on the 9330 to speed up the unloading over the hydraulic drive.

That would be fun to have lake front property and take the ski out whenever you want. ;D You are going to miss that when it dries out and you are farming it again. ;D Of course when you get the grain check off it again you might not be so sad. LOL

Yep, no doubt we've been spoiled this year being able to get out on the water. We've done pretty well over the last few years being able to seed it as many years in a row as we had. I guess it just goes to show how dry it was here for the last 5-6 years. Government actually kicked in a pretty healthy chunk of $$ available as "flood aid for unseeded acres". The $/acre formula was based from your last 5 years of seeded acres. As a result, the gov. program basically bought us the Yamaha. Good deal in my books. Rarely do those "assistance" programs ever amount to anything more than a joke.

Looks like fun! Have you guys ever dropped straw with your 8010? We have a 05 blacktop and it leaves a really small windrow. Just wondering if that was just ours.

Dallas, the only straw we ever drop is flax and I haven't noticed it being that small of a row. The rotor really chews up straw though so I could understand there not being a lot of straw to drop in cereal crops. Flax is so wirey and tough it doesn't break down as much. That being said do you guys just flip up the back door or do you pull back the spreader and everything? That back door above the spreader has been sealed up on ours and a piece of steel plate welded in as a liner inside above the spreader to act as a deflector down to the spreader and heavier shield to prevent things like busted chopper blades and rocks from getting thrown through the rear and more importantly the fuel tank.

idk i'm never there when they put it in straw drop mode im just there when it's there but i'm also wondering if it's from the chopper. We accidentally got magna cut's on our 8120's and the 8010 just has the standard.
