Back of my dads 9500 caught fire. Metal aganist metal make spark and the bean stubble caught fire. That was in 1999. We put a 50 series back end on it, looked so much better.

Here's the S670. Demo rig Less then 100 hundred hours on it. I don't think it did that much damage but I still though it was pretty funny... Trey

What was the cause for that many engine failures? Especially in a week. All you would get done is change engines since it takes several hours to do.

A couple years ago we had to put a new engine in on a 9770 deere. Sad thing was it wasn't ours. It was one of Olsons we had rented. There was a lot of problems that year with that model tho.

I remembered this when I was going through my photo bucket. This is a neighbor we came upon right after he dropped his pick up on the road. He didn't latch the pick up onto the feederhose and headed for town. The pics were taken just out of his driveway.

Did somebody not put oil in or for get to tighten the plug to go through 4 engines? Well we had the first engine blow up and the second one was supposedly rebuilt and we got through 20 acres of sunflowers and it had a knock in the engine and the 3rd one blown up and the 4th one is in the combine yet to and also we broke the rear axle in the mud and got it stuck multiple times last fall but now our 2388 is a big step up than that 1680 I hated that combine from day 1

The cat is a total loss. Last year this machine went down and he got a 585R. I ran that machine in wheat with him, beautiful combine. He is planning on buying that 585R now. THe head was fine but it was rented from the dealer.

My grandpa ran a combine through an old pond. There weren't any crops in it but he refused to go around it. Sank right in. Took a magnum and steiger to pull it out. After we pulled it out, he drove back in. Dad was combining two years ago. A sinkhole caved in. Had to get a backhoe to dig him out. My uncle was combining beans a few years ago. The reel fell off the head and went rolling through the field lol.

In the early 90's a friend of the family was getting their corn harvested by a neigbour who was running a 9400 Deere with a 6 row head, well one night they were combining corn and left the auger out and it was late at night when "BANG" they smashed the unloading auger against a hydro pole. The feild they were harvesting had a few hydro poles spread out in the field and I guess they forgot the auger was out. Caused a few 1000 $$ to repair, needless to say they never combined with the auger out again, unless they were unloading on the go.
My cousin who farms never combines with his auger out on his 9610 unless he is unloading on the go. He did however have the vertical auger in the unloading auger come apart on his 9610 one night two years ago while unloading on the go while harvesting corn. He wondered why the auger quite working while he still had a nearly full bin of corn.

Trey Well that would have been interesting to explain to the Deere Dealer when they came back to pick up the demo S670! At least there was not that much damage done.
