Went down to my moms parents for Thanksgiving yesterday. Got bored so I figured I'd take a couple pics. My Grandparents sold out 3 years ago and my uncle is now farming their ground. He's getting by with what he has... haha He got rid of his crustbuster for this cruddy John Deere. I guess he was having down pressure problems or something. We call this the redneck rig. He finally got a new grain trailer, he had an old homeade steel sided trailer last year. Just some cheap horsepower. He had a 2470 and a 935 Versatile w/ a 400hp cummins till my grandparents sold them in the auction. His main tractors are 2390 and MX 270 His bale pickup burned last year when his hired man got in a wreck. He found this Duramax this summer for a work pickup. Trey

nice pickup, i have a ranch hand bumper on my duramax. i think u forget tho that there are a lot more farmers out there with older equipment (just getting by as u put it) than there are ones with everything brand new. theres nothing wrong with older equipment, its usually paid for too, and these days id rather have something old and paid for than something new and making payments. but none the less nice pics.

I know whst youre saying. In my uncles case, alot of his older stuff has issues. That 4690's frame was completely coverd with 1-2 inches of residue from leaking lines. My grandparents motto was always to find the cheapest stuff you can get. That can really bite your ass in the long haul though.. I hate to say it, but his crops reflect alot of his equipment. Trey

haha sounds like you just love the way he farms Trey. And i gotta go with both on this one. New isn't always good. It's gotta prove itself. But when you buy cheap it doesn't always last. Interesting to see some different farms tho.
Thanks for sharing Dallas
