Big Cotton Farm - Part 1

This is the one of the largest cotton farms in the area. He grows 900 acres of it each year. The other 900 acres is grain/soy. Which he rotates the crops.

He also is the only farm that uses a Cotton House. To make modules. There a gin in South Carolina comes to pick them up. Which is around a 3 hour drive round trip. From what I was told by the farm hand at the Cotton House.

Here is a module all ready for the gin.


The John Deere 4320 pulling the KBH. To the next field. I got a good shot of him getting hung up. Making a terrific shot.


At the field the KBH is lowered and ready for packing.

Here is a John Deere 4040. He already shredded stalks to get the area ready for the KBH.

There is, but there is nothing you can really do to fix that. Even the most current modern pickers leave crop behind. Cotton is one of the hardest crop to pick clean.
