We started making a new crew trailer. The other one is 6-7 years old. It has taking it's beating. This ones a 53' reefer. Will have 7 slides in total. 4 in the very back for beds, 2 in the front for a living room, and 1 in the middle for the fridge and freezer. Hopefully the slides work out. That's why we only cut out one hole. We will be the first ones (that we know of) to do something like this. So wish us luck lol. We got a type of wall that will make it look like a real camper. I'm in charge of planning this, well somewhat. I had it all done and then it didn't save. More of the planning was needed in the back. Comments questions tips welcome. Dallas

Wow I never would've thought of something like this, do you guy's travel around the states for different jobs and can you use the reefer to have it like 65 degrees all the time I suppose for air conditioning or do reefers only work below to set at different temps??? I like the design of it as well and hope the slide out's work.

We have had jobs for the past 20 years that we have been going down, so we have are run pre much planned out. We got a reefer because they are insulated good. The reefer will be coming off.

Your not going to use the reefer as an a/c unit? lol

No, We are going to put are own A/C units in. They run of power. IDK why, Dads idea. That's what the other one has. Work's good for us. Reason for a reefer was because they already had insulation. So it saved a lot of work.

For those who don't know, This is a bunkhouse. Not a parts trailer. And the smaller A/C we are going to use is a lot cheaper then the big diesel reefer. And lighter.

Gossen Harvesting in Oklahoma uses reefer trailers for the crew. They kept the reefer for the AC. I think there were 2 or 3 trailers. Do not recall slide outs on them though.

Cool idea. You can buy those fairly cheap, with air ride to.

Yup its got air ride. And I asked dad about the reefer, he said because they are to loud. We would probably get kicked out of campgrounds. And you would not want to sleep in there.

Reefer units don't run all that loud and I've seen reefers before converted into campers with slides its not a new idea. best thing to do is look at how they slide on campers...

That's what we are doing. We got our design all planned out. And I don't think people would want to sleep inside with the reefer running, or sleeping next to that camper. And where at? I've never heard of it. We had nothing to base off of, besides real camper.

Sam, were they flipout? We are putting 7 pull out slides in. First ones that we know of. I've seen 1 trailer EVER before in all my years of harvest, with slides. And they where flip out.

TAnd I don't think people would want to sleep inside with the reefer running, or sleeping next to that camper. And where at? Dallas I am not criticizing your thought but don't reefers run while guys a dozing in the sleeper just a few feet away? I am real curious what it would sound like inside the trailer with a reefer running. Then I wonder where Gossen's have the sleeping quarters in their trailers. Front-back-middle??? Hmmm.

Let's get away from even having a reefer on there... lol. It's not staying on and never will go on. We need a A/C to be on there to cool it in the night. We started it up the other day and it was LOUD. It's a 12 year old rig. I think I know the guys that did that. They have little rooms in it? There was a guy that did that. But he uses his almost year round.
Dallas We got the bottom part of slide 1 built now btw.
