What are those discers used for? I've never seen those before. I know you said your uncle was using them for fertilizer application/mixing in the soil, but what were they originally used for?

Thanks guys, the discers were how western Canadian farmers seeded there crops before the airseeders came around. They were used up till the around 01 02 in this area, there are the odd ones still around.

These two seeded up to 6,000 acres up until 8years ago My uncle used these up until three years ago

Excellent!! Love seeing discer pics.... 30ft of fertilizer filled 360's would be a pretty healthy tug for a 5020, at least in our dirt. I take it you guys are not a "no-till" operation lol. How heavy would he have been putting on the fertilizer (lbs/acre)? Seems like a job for someone who's a sucker for punishment, if you had very much to put on.... You'd be stopping to refill constantly.

Thanks guys, Chris its a good thing we didn't use them to put fertilizer in the ground bcause i don't think the 5020 would have pulled it without weights. We had just put the fertilizer on with the spreader

That makes more sense. I don't know why I had in my mind you were putting down fertilizer with the discers.....
