Hmm i ve never heard such bad things about a Seed hawk before. A friend of mine has one and there considering buying another one. Were using a John Deere 1870 Conserva pac. The tool it self is a great unit it has excellent trash clearance. Only down side is the machine has is offset by 1 to the left side. Makes it a pain in the A$$ to set the autotrac correctly. Pulls out a ton of rocks too. But Fred Flintstone could of built a better Seed cart. (Deere 1910 Tow between) The auger is a pain to move from transport to loading position. Very hard to calibrate/change from crop to crop. You can easily forget to turn your on fan before you start seeding. Deere should have a buzzer that comes on. Overall a very good machine. IMO Bourgault probably has one of the best machine but it all depends

I really like our 1890 CCS. Its a very handy drill to have, easy to maneuver, easy to run, and easy to work on. The only thing I absolutely hate doing on the thing is changing seed meters, it is next to impossible. The reason we chose it over a commodity cart rig is because of its maneuverability. Next to all of our pivot corners go into wheat each year and a commodity cart would be a pain in the butt to move around. We would love to atleast try one sometime though. Our planter is also a CCS. We have had some issues with fan speed and placement our first year but overall I think we are real happy with it.
