Better hurry up before the rain & snow moves in today. Still pretty soggy around here. Need some warm days with the sun.

I think you may be optomistic for planting today. Heck I think all week doesn't look too good. Nice pictures.

I haven't been home since last weekend, but my brother relayed back to me that they did some chisel plowing of alfalfa ground and some anhydrous amonia aplication. The alfalfa ground was chisel plowed last year and is on top of a hill and goes down a side hill. It was wet underneath for anhydrous. That was on our rented farm near Dalton. My brother said it made the 9700 snort some.

Josh, just to let you know, the anhydrous will pull moisture out of the ground. We had a a field we did last spring at it was muddy for 2 weeks after all our other fields.
I hope I can get some corn planting pictures this weekend.

I didn't word that correct. It was wetter than it looked. It just pulled hard. If it was drier, it would have pulled easier. We maybe starting later this week. We are not planting any corn this year. Just wheat and beans.

Last fall was part of the decision. It's getting very expensive to grow corn. Dad figured out it would be at least $100/acre just for seed this year. Since we are a small farm, having 3 crops is getting harder to make work out, plus us discontinuing our cattle operations we don't need corn for feed. We've only had about 70-80 acres of corn since 2004; that fall was just as wet if not wetter than 2008.
