The front axle asist was avaiable as a aftermarket from M&W.... read bought it in Heritage Iron.

Actually they came from Elwood tractor works and Coleman tractor works.
M&W never produced an All Wheel Drive front end for an 86 series tractor.

Is the front axal the one that came on the tractor or is it different? well yes and no. I took the original axle and cut down the arms that are vertical and jb welded them back together. It was a pain in the butt but I like how it turned out. I think Im gonna make a shaft going to the front axle and put a "pumpkin" on the axle.
