Hi everyone... I saw a 9600 at a toy show with a service door open on it in front of the shop - I really liked the idea so today I tried the idea on a 9860 - I used two combines to make sure the doors fit - the last picture shows the sacraficed combine - I custom made all the ladders, flashers, etc and switched the tires... Any thoughts or comments? I really appreciate the dialogue / questions / comments that I have had in my other posts. Happy Harvesting! Thanks for looking

The door is fixed open - it will be on the display with something plugged or just getting looked at - if you are a IH fan then you can say it is broken down - I just liked the idea when I saw it done on a 9600. How I did it... Its hard to explain - basically i took 2 combines apart and cut the outside of the door off on one and then the inside of the door on the other. You can see the combine I used to cut the door out of. Matched it the best I could and cut the decal...

Looks real good. I like that, its a neat idea. I am a diehard IH guy but i gotta appreacheate good custom work. The last I knew color bashing was not allowed so i dont see the reason to say its broken down all the time. Very nice custom.

thanks for the comment - I am the same way, I like green but any custom stuff that looks realistic is good with me nevermind the colour - the more detailed the better

If you really want a realistic looking combine in the shop, try taking off the feeder house and detailing the front of the rotor. I once saw a picture of a 9650 in a John Deere dealership with all the panels raised and the feeder house sitting right beside the combine. It looked pretty impressive.
