Been a while since I've posted anything on here, but here's the latest thing coming off the bench. Still need to get some green on the railings but otherwise I'm thinking she's pretty well a wrap. It started life as first run casting I got as a kid in about 90/91, complete with the blacked out cab, and yes this is still the original cab, not the newer windowed cab swapped over.

Thanks! The decals are from Bossen's, although I had taken off the originals real careful just incase they had shown up inaccurate.

I have this casting as the 8560 and the 8870 as well and have always wanted to do this with at least one of them. Great work!

You did a awesome job on it. you should be proud! I have a 8870 that i started on about 2 years ago but i lost interest in it. I should one day blow the dust off it and finish it off. Small question for you... What size did you use for tires? They look bigger than what i was going to use.

What do you use to fill the seams? The tractor looks great.

That looks really sweet. I love the 60/70 series of 4WDs by Deere. My favorite of the 60s was the 8760.
How you remove the cab? I got the old casting of a 8760. And would like to put the new window cab on it from the 8870.

Thanks all for the compliments. Seams were filled with JB quick weld. Sets fast and sands down really well. Unfortunately the cabs only come off when the casting is split if memory served correct. I then cut off the cabs retainer clips so I could put it back on after the casting was back together in one piece. I wanted to split it anyways so I could fix the sagging articulating joint after years of high hour'd playing. In reality the newer cabs are the way to go if you have them available. I have some extra here but also plan on doing some 70's series in the future so didn't want to steal a cab..... But thought about doing so on a regular basis. Would have been soooo much easier. SW Chris.... Pecan... Walnut... Cashew... You can dump the whole bag of "trail mix" in that bad boy and plant away. I'll post a Belarus pulling Deere pic as soon as I make a paper bag to cover the head of the little dude in the Deere first. Embarrassment would be an understatement.

Thanks, I tried to pull one off a while back and saw no give. So I stopped before I broke something.
