Most guys use those in our area. I'm not really a fan of them because they are always wanting to run the hoses through our ground. Then we look like the bad guys when we tell them to find another way.

Thats understandable not letting them. The one big plus of these is the manure is going right in the ground so no run off . Ive seen one in action and its a slow process.

Have you watched them run? They cant shut it off when they pick it up on the ends so it just goes everywhere. That is why I have never bee a fan of drag lines. You can get by with that running lagoon water but I want my manure out of a pit in the ground.

I have watched one from my experience its supposed to limit run of but the pit wouldnt cover the whole field that it was in was a 200 cow dairy they hired someone to pump it. Can I ask what you use on your farm ?

The guys to the east of us are always letting to much run off and it's always getting in our creek, it got to the point where the DNR officer would just camp out all day testing the water, just so he could write them a ticket every time.
