Corn Harvest in Eastern North Carolina

Things are starting to heat up down here as the corn dries down. Afternoon showers however are keeping things to a crawl. A 8320R manned the cart and a 9870STS with a 12 Row head kept the corn coming in. This particular field was on some bottom ground in Duplin County and is a black sand/muck. On irrigated land yields can reach into the 200s, dryland normally averages 140-180bpa.

Wow, I'm surprised your doing corn harvest already. What fields that didn't get chopped for silage. They are still green. Corn is usually cut more around October in my area.

How big is the farm? What else they grow?

They farm between 2 to 3000 acres. Growing corn, wheat with double crop beans and cotton. They also have an extensive hog operation and raise cattle. When it comes time to pick cotton I'll try to catch their 9986 in action.
