How many of you came across these. Like in my area its common to see JD tractors use and Gleaner or NH combines on the same farm. Or International tractors with Gleaner. Now I'm seeing a couple running Deere with Claas being the combine.
What about tractors using like 2-3 different brands? I take it would be easier to keep your brands down to 2 different ones. So that way its easier to keep up with part runs, service, etc.
What is your thoughts on this?

A neighboring farmer runs John Deere's, Case IH and New Holland. His combines are 2 CAT's and a John Deere. Pretty neat operation. They prefer John Deere but the Case IH was a end of the year deal and the Case IH dealer was trying to move it because of the new Case IH tractors that he had coming and the New Holland was a sunbelt ag expo demo with all the bells and whistles and it went to a local ford/NH dealer and he ended up retiring about 4 months after getting the tractor on his lot and he sold them that tractor for pennies on the dollar. It only had about 120 hrs when they got it. One of there cat combines they got as a repo. Had a little over 200 hrs on it and it sat on the dealer yard for 2 years and one of the brothers were there picking up parts and he saw the combine and shot a price out there of 50K and the salesman said that it was too low but a week later called them back and sold it to them for 52K. The one brother just shot a price out there knowing it would get rejected but they pretty much took it. It only came with a 30' bean head

I can understand that. You get a sweet deal on it, why not get it. I sure would. I know some farms would buy a new or used tractor. Just to play around with it. To see if they like the brand. After a year or so, they didn't like it. It became trade fodder for something else.

What kind of White combine? A farmer used to run an Oliver 7800 which predates the Whites, but basically the same design.

We run JD and Cat. Would of been all John Deere but when we wanted to upgrade, they were back ordered on 9560RTs so we went with the Cat MT875C.

We run a few different brands of equipment but mostly we try to stick with John Deere or I would like to at least. My dad is a big bargain hunter and ends up bringing home equipment that he finds for cheap. That's how we got our first combine, Massey 510. (RIP 2014)
