This is an Ertl 5th wheel flatbed trailer that I customized. I removed the extra casting on the hitch as well as painted the boards and added more realistic rims and tires!

Have you thought about applying some decals to the trailer as well? Maybe a mini license plate?

Yes! I am going to do DOT stripes down the side at some point for sure. I just have to decide if I want to try and paint them or use decals and then find a decal that I like!

Nice trailer. I like the wood color on the deck. Upgrading the rims and tires also made a big change. I am adding a new deck on one of those frames. It came with the grain box which I removed to use on a straight truck, so it is time to turn the frame into a flatbed.

One thing I've seen that I'd like to try is some people take and put two of them together to make a longer trailer!

Finally put some D.O.T. stripes on the trailer. I decided to paint them instead of ordering decals and it doesn't look too bad. It looks great from a distance. I also added marker lights.

I've been thinking about building more and putting some up for sale. I always like to get a prototype or two done first though.

I recently got married, started a new job and will be moving soon so I haven't had much time to build lately. Dang life getting in the way. Anyways, they are really simple to build if you want to tackle it yourself. Or I can build some but it will be a while before I get around to it. |
