I have started using my GoPro on some of the farm equipment and it has made for some pretty cool videos. My editing isn't the best but I wanted to share what we do in tobacco production. One is of the field cultivator preparing the land for ridging and the second one is of the transplanter while we are planting. Let me know what you think. Your videos make me want to invest in one of those GoPros. The shot from under the cultivator and planter just amaze me. You get a real up close shot of how everything really works on one of those machines.

Are you worried about sand/dirt getting up into the GoPro? That's the only issue scaring me from taking some videos around here with my Sony Camcorder.

It has a waterproof/dustproof housing that it is contained in and I can control it remotely with an app on my phone. I am not scared of it being damaged from environmental conditions. I did have it fly off a sprayer the first time I used it and it survived that so if it doesn't get run over by the equipment it should be fine. I would be wary of using a regular camera like I use this one because the housing does get very dusty.

You would need a water/weather proof camera at a minimum if you want to shoot outside on equipment. GoPro has a case designed for harsh environments so it's safer to run in dust.
I made a mount for my gopro with a 45lbs magnet and have a safety tether to a second 45lbs magnet so chances of loosing it are slim.

This was my video from harvesting lentils last fall. I have a few more clips on my channel from my GoPro Fun with Lentils 2014: youtu.be/UNIfQ16fREY
