Finished another custom...well sort of. I mean, is a custom ever really finished? I'm sure I will do some tweaking as time goes on . Anyways, this started as an Ertl casting of a 9520 that I changed to a 9320! I added hand rails, tires, mirrors, and detailed the interior with shift levers, detail paint, and a more realistic steering wheel. Future "tweaks" may include rear wheel weights and a authentics style hitch as well as a toolbox on the front of the tractor. This is one of the many projects I am working on with the intention of building a display of my soon-to-be father-in-law's farm at some point. Once again I tried my hand at the outdoor shots, it worked a bit better this time I'd say!
The mini display is still in progress
Here is the starting video from this project:

Looks good, I like the cab levers. You take good pictures too.

It looks like a real good start, but just a suggestion I would get rid of the clamp on duals for axle mount, if you need the right wheels I can dig some out of my spare parts for you, Chris

Tyler - Yes it is the stock cab glass, that's part of the reason I picked this model to use. Aaron - Thank you! The journal pictures Chris takes have really motivated me to try the outdoor pictures. And I have noticed that not many people detail the inside of the cabs so I have really enjoyed doing that part. Chris - I think about that every time I look at it, banded duals definitely aren't the right choice for a 9320. I used them because I had them laying around, eventually I would like to switch them to something else. Where would you go to get the most realistic ones?

I used them because I had them laying around, eventually I would like to switch them to something else. Where would you go to get the most realistic ones? To echo Chris, aside from those rims, you have the makings of a real nice tractor. To answer your quandary about realistic rims, I have a couple suggestions though taking Chris up on his offer for some "salvaged rims" is a pretty good option. Looking at you current tires in guessing 710-38 standi's? That's the size your going for? If your wanting to run wheel weights there's always the Darryl Stangler 800-38 option. The incorrect hub/lugs will be hidden by the weights, but you get to see the nice wheel bead. If your into putting in a little effort and have a pile of these crappy Ertl rims around they can turn out real nice. These are easily some of my most hated wheels ever offered on toys. Hub mounted, banded duals.... makes no sense. BUT...if you take the time to trim them down they can turn into a fairly accurate representation of a big single rim. They are more appropriately scaled to a 42" rim rather then a 38". Check out the results below. They still fit the 3d wheel weights nicely as well. Stock junk Modified on the left fit over a single Standi Trelleborg. The rim was narrowed cutting back the inside of the rim to the desired width. . With 3d printed weights.

And yes the 710-38's are what is on the tractor I modeled it from. Thanks for the great feedback! This is only my fourth custom piece, so I'm sure I have plenty of room for improvement but I love to spend time on the small details, especially inside the cabs!

I agree. Nice build, just needs a shoe change.
