I bought a john deere 4440 earlier this spring. We ran it on the bagger all summer so far and it ran like a dream. Last week we put the tractor on the blower to blow corn silage. The first day the tractor blew like a dream but I never idled the tractor down. The only thing I noticed was the sentiment bowl was only about half full. The second day I idled the tractor down but left the blower run. Soon the tractor started going brum brum brum not the steady beller it usually has. The shear bolts would then break on the blower. It did this three more times that day. The third day it went brum brum brum again but this time when the tractor was wide open, which it worked fine before, it started to blow some smoke. Not bad just so you could see it though and the blower had very little feed in it. I was just wondering what you thought could be wrong. I think it is starving for fuel but I am not sure. The setament bowl suppost to full correct. Any help would be great thanks.

The first things I think of are 1. check the screen at the top of sediment bowl. If the bowl is not clear full, the screen could be plugging, Last fall I had the screen on the K2 plug multiple times with brown scum from algae in biodiesel. Combine would lug down or die. 2. fuel filter plugging.
