Hey everyone!
I dug another old project of off my shelf! When I have room to make a display I am going to make my fiancé's family farm and they use a John Deere 1790 planter. I found one on eBay for a good price a while back and now I started to build it!
They use a John Deere 8235R to pull it which I will eventually do up with custom tires and a steerable front axle. For now it just has a Moore's 3pt.
I added a 2pt hitch to the planter similar to what the real one has and also made the jacks for it!
This is obviously not a stock piece for this planter. There will be round tanks mounted on the posts. They took fertilizer tanks from an old planter, cut them in half, and added hinges. Inside the tanks they store extra bags of seed in case they get half way across the field and run out. Then they are able to refill the CCS enough to get back to the tender.
There is also a toolbox that will be mounted on the platform.
Here is the real planter! Any comments or suggestions are welcome! Anybody have ideas on what to use for tanks?
