Heavner Farm: Winter work

The end of 2016 draws to a end. Temps been nice for this time of year. Staying in the 50s and 40s. Which is warm than what we usually get.

The farm has been busy these last couple of weeks. Other than feeding the herd of Black Angus, and goats.


In the shop we been busy. The Ford 640 is getting a steering box repaired. While the Farmall M is in for a new clutch and other drive line components.


Meanwhile out in the fields. We worked on the terraces. Plowing them up to build them back up. Usually I do it with the Farmall M. However the John Deere G was up to the task. Also the Ford 5000 on the blade. Worked the terrace outlets in the woods. To make sure they was cleared out to permit drainage.

Heavner farm, man I haven't heard that name in a long time. Looking good. Where did you find your 3 bottom plow at?

40's and 50's is pretty nice weather for winter work. Good to see the farm still going.

I got the plow from Farmtoysforfun when Vankley had it. That was a few years ago. I also have a 4 bottom IH plow I got from them as well.

In the past I made a few attempts to get this farm going. But I didn't have enough stuff to pull it off. Due to the farm is hobby sized. I been waiting for a 4 row planter to come out, that wasn't the IH Ertl did years ago. And I had to solve the issue of a soybean planter since I wasn't no-till the fields.
