Now that I found a better site to post picture, a little late, but.... With each passing day now, we get closer to winter and the end of another harvest. A few weeks ago we finished filling three of the farm’s four silos with silage. Now our attention will turn to filling the last – with high moisture corn. Frank’s cousin, Ray, was hired to help with the task. We figured running it through his NH FR 9090 would be quicker than combining, grinding it, than blowing it in to the silo. With the high moisture corn done, we switched to soybeans. This year we had acres to harvest. We knew the 1460 would handle the acreage ok, but my father-in-law insisted he bring his JD 7720 over to help. Worked out for both of us, since we helped him get his beans harvested, with neither of us having any weather delays. Still thought, one combine would have been plenty. Phil was hired to haul one semi load in to sell right away, since the soybeans were yielding so well. Normally, anything left over once the bins are full, is sold off right away. This year maybe different with the corn. With the low price and possibility of high yields again, the bin will fill up quick. Phil has already offered to store any extra for us till the price improves. Phil seems to be enjoying his semi – retirement so far. Now he only focuses on grain handling, manure spreading and some heavy tillage. With all that and him helping out his brother, he is still busy, but less stress. Can there be such a thing with farming.

Glad to see this display back up again. I love seeing this one in action. Nice to see the 1460 in action as well. I cut the hopper top thing off it. Since I never saw a IH with that.

That's weird, I see fifteen pictures - no error messages.
