Maple Ledge Farms is a fictional farm( but is based off some farms in my area for the acreage and equipment) medium size family owned farm. It is located in SE WI, near Ledge Park at the National Horicon Marsh. Ever since the farm has been established there has been maple trees surrounding the farm, that's how the farm got its name. Even after a tornado passed through and knocked many of the original trees over the owners replanted maple trees. The farm has gone through many changes, it was a dairy farm, then raised hogs, and now there's no animals around. The shed was added onto to sell seed and chemicals to help recover from the 1980 farming crisis, and now is a shop, and custom square baling is the main source of income, but the stone house has always stayed the same, along with the typical crops of corn, soybeans, and some wheat. The family uses a mix of equipment. Right now the display is set up a Spring Theme. The local elevator is over filling a gravity box up with dry fertilizer. I'm not really sure what I think of this display. I built it to try my hand at scratch building buildings. I don't know how many journals I'll do, I might take it down or try to sell the buildings and board to use the money to build something more to my liking. Thanks for viewing as usual any comments questions or smart remarks are always welcome.
