Wire wheel on bench grinder is what I use. Just have to be careful somewhat. Just remove paint lol not metal. You can get paint stripper for a hardware store in an aroesal can

I usually just soak them in nail polish remover overnight

I set them in paint stripper, leave them overnight and wash them off with warm soapy water
