Its been awhile but the farm is still up and running. It has been a very busy past couple of months. The weather cooperated nicely and resulted in some really great hay being made for the cattle. Small grain harvest went well. The barley straw was short but the grain yield was great. A neighbor was making room in one of his sheds and had a few corn stalk bales to get rid of. It was handy borrowing his bale wagon. Chopping corn silage was wrapped up a day ago and soon it will be time to start doing high moisture corn in a week or so. Also found time to haul out some manure from the beef lot. A few changes were made to the farm during this time also. Some remodeling was done on the hay shed to make room for more calves. A 1998 CIH MX 100 and a 2000 CIH MX 170 was added. The big big bale wagon was replaced with two smaller ones which are easier to move around and back into sheds. Finally a grain truck was found that seems to fit the size of the farm a little better than the old one.
