Thanks for the good pictures. Were they planting the whole field or going back and seeding the wet spots they left? I see they also roll the fields down there. We roll all the soybean fields and this spring we rolled one wheat field. The wheat field was lumpy from putting the N on with the chiselplow and a 1 to 2 inch crust that broke up in big lumps. We seed with a Bourgault airseeder with only the drag behind. Where it was rolled it came up all even and looks good. The strips that were left unrolled looks shaggy and thin. I’ll check it out more when I spray. I’m sure rolling it made better seed to soil contact and crushed a lot of the lumps. The only bad thing with rolling the fields is a hard rain and soil erosion.

My guesses are they are finishing up their last fields of planting. Not too many roll fields here. We were going to rent a roller for our soybeans at home, but the field conditions didn't allow it. I know the farmer that owns that, he just bought it this year. That roller is a 45 ft and was being pulled by a JD 4230 at one time. I was told it was grunting a little bit. The tractor pictured is a 4960.
