Kevin was fueling up the Quad, from being out disking bean ground for winter wheat prep, while Katie had just finished loading out some hay for the new couple in the neighborhood, that have a small hobby farm, and had bought some deacon calves from RDD. Mel asked what she doing with her Aunt Dawn's truck, she said all they needed wouldn't fit on their little trailer, so she was hauling the last three over.
Over at CRR, Tommy's parents, are headed home, and saying their goodbyes, Lisa, had been out drilling wheat, and Tommy came back over from milking at RDD. Mrs. Johnson wished them a safe trip, and said she would see them for the wedding, and she knows Professor Johnson would love to have seen them off but today was the first day at OSU, and he hasn't missed one of those in 44 years.
Down on the Dairy, Larry had been out working in the shop, and had stopped to watch Jim pull out of the drive, when a truck with he didn't recognize pull in, and a young man hopped out, saying his name was Willy, and he was new to the School Of Ag, and had asked around to see if anyone knew of a farm that needed help, for the school year and an Old man by the name of Johnson told him that if he needed work, and didn't mind milking cows that he was pretty sure Red Dirt Dairy would give him a chance. He said his family had, had a dairy, but a few years ago switched over to just beef steers but he, was a good hand. Larry told him he sounded like a good fit, but he would have to wait until Tommy got back he does all the hiring.
The kid said that would be fine, then made a joke so I see you like blue trucks.
