I thought i would post a few pics of what's going on in this area for now.
First of all, we have been pretty busy haying when there isnt any rain... Its taking us quite awhile to get this first cutting done because it seems like every night it rains a little bit, hard to imagine when last summer it only rained about twice a month, safe to say our drought is over.
Well onto the pics, Here is dad putting anhydrous on the corn with the 4850.
Here you can see what little amount of the pivot we have baled, due to the slow going from the rain.
Here is the 4440 and our new 567 baler.
I decided i might has well move what bales there are off now since there are going to be probably over 200 by the time we are done. This is the best cutting of alfalfa we have ever got from this pivot.
I had to use the other 4440 though since the 4850 was tied up, so we unhooked the swather and got it on the mover, unfortunately its not quite as fast as a process with this tractor as it is with the 4850. Its also pretty easy to get the front tires off the ground a couple inches without any weights on.
We started getting the R62 ready, we decided we might as well replace a row of cylinder bars since 1 of the 4 rows on the rotor are fairly worn, and as far as we can tell the other 3 rows have been replaced within the past 3 or 4 years since they arent worn nearly as bad. Here is the concave opened up and you can see where we have the bars off.
Here is a picture of one of the worn bars.
And here is a new bar which we got from Abilene Machine out of Kansas since they were about $200 cheaper then our local dealer.
We also put the extensions back on our grain cart. We had to take them off because the L2 couldnt clear it with them on, but the R62 and R52 can clear it with no problem.
Our neighbors which farm my grandpas irrigated land have started cultivating and ditching corn and edible beans. Here is their 8330 on a 12 row cultivator and down the road their 8320 on the ditcher.
Right now they are sitting since it is too muddy.
I have summefallow to work at the moment so i got the 4850 hooked on to the sweep, and right now im waiting for it to dry out.
The wheat looks very good, this field is our best dryland field and it looks like it will make about 60-70.
Thats all for now, comments and questions welcome.
