Well this month is a month of harvesting for Double S Farms. Right now the three combines are in northwestern Kansas, combining some very good wheat, ranging from 60-90 bushel dryland. They have been there for about a week and a half, and because im behind on my journal there wont be any pictures of the crew moving down there. They have had enough work to keep the combines busy, and are finishing up their last 300 acres in Kansas and then moving to McCook Nebraska before coming home for harvest. Well here are the pictures. Here is the crew fueling up and greasing before starting today. For those of you who dont know, we are an older crew, consisting of a Deere 9610, Gleaner R62, and Deere 9750. Here they are rolling, very good yields, and very good harvest conditions. The sun is blaring down on them. So far the wait at the elevators hasn't been too bad, so we are only using the three straight trucks, if we need to we will bring down a semi. Got the pete loaded. Here is the R62, with the smallest header it can run about 1 mph faster then the 9610, but doesn't have the horsepower of the 9750 so just runs the same speed as it, we are looking for a 30' head for it. The deeres sample sure cant beat the good clean sample of the natural flow. Back at home... things are pretty busy too. They are busy putting anhydrous on all the corn. Haying is also pretty steady except for when the rain is holding them up. Thats all for now, comments and questions welcome.

Nice journal. We are trying to cut wheat here but seems like we get a little shower every night and we can't get cutting till late afternoon.

Lookin' good. That sounds like top-notch yields. You guys up there probably had adequate rains. Your photo's even show dusty conditions. How did you do it? Also, is the R-62 a re-worked R-55 or where did you find a 1/64" SCALE R-62. It's good to see an AGCO DT-225 on a display. EVK

Thanks guys. EVK, the dusty looking photo was just a glare off something. The R62 is a reworked R52 that i did. That tractor isnt a DT-225 its a 9675.

You did a great job on the R-62. I have a "used to be R-52", which I converted to an N6. Where did you get decals for an R-62? That's beginning to sound like a winter project for me, since of course we won't be getting any real 1/64" Gleaners in my lifetime.. EVK
