I am a little late on this journal, but I have been busy at work with harvest. This journal takes place about a week ago. The weather hasn't been the most cooperative this harvest. We have had little rain showers at night and high humidity, so we haven't been able to get in long days of cutting. Can't get started till late afternoon and have to quit around 9 or 10 because it is already getting tough. Here is the crew lined up waiting to roll in the morning. The 7088s are still south of here custom cutting. We are hoping they get up here to help or it is going to be a long harvest. Finally rolling. The yields and test weights have been good so far. Making around 60 bpa. Unloading onto the truck. We are careful to keep this truck out on the road. It is an 08 so it has the exhaust filter and they can get up around 1200 degrees. We don't want to have a fire. We can keep the trucks rolling with the 3 big machines and 35 foot heads. We were close to home so we were hauling to our elevator. The yard was busy with trucks. One leaving one coming. Dumping. Another one leaving. We got a little sprinkle that shut us down. They were forcasting severe storms so we brought the combines home and backed them in the shed. All of our sheds were built back when a 30 foot head was big. Now our 35s won't fit. I guess we should have planned ahead. We just have to be more creative to get them inside. That is all for now. Questions and comments welcome.
