I got way behind on my journals this summer. This is my catch up journal for this farm. They had a good wheat harvest they were happy with their yields. Once they got done with wheat they had to disk the continuous crop ground on there new landlord. The 7520 was on disking duty.
They put some NH3 on while they were working the conventional tilled summer fallow. It is the cheapest form of N at the moment.
They also have got the 3rd cutting of alfalfa done and the 4th cutting is looking very nice. Fueling up to bale the 3rd.
They also put some NH3 on the no till ground in August with Minkler Farms NH3 applicator.
Fueling up.
They also started swathing cane in mid August. They used both of the swathers this year. They haven't used the old NH since they got the disk mower.
They have also sprayed the no till summer fallow and wheat stubble a couple of times since harvest as well. They are really liking the floater. They can get a lot more done in less time than they could with their pull type sprayer. They are thinking about selling their old pull type now.
Now in early September they are baling cane. They want to put wheat on some of that ground if it works out.
They have also been weaning calves. They want to have them done before wheat drilling. They take their calves to Minkler Farms feed lot. Where they are custom fed until they decide to sell them or they are finished.
They are hoping to start drilling wheat around the 21st of September. The drill is in the shop so they can get it ready to go. That is all for now. Questions and comments welcome.
