Hey all
Things are picking up on Grimway farms. we are wrapping up soybeans, ended sewing winter wheat for the year, and we are getting ready to start on corn. here are some pics to show some of the action. This is our first year with a grain cart. it worked real well. but we quickly realized, to keep up with 3 combines we need another bigger one. so for the year, a Brent 1084 Avalanche was leased. its a very nice cart. if we were to buy one, we would have tires on it though. And it would have to be green to match our tractor. lol. we like the adjustable spout on the auger. makes things go allot smoother loading our small grain trucks. Also, we had a few header trailers made up for us by the local fabrication shop. it was allot cheaper than buying Name brand wagons to haul the heads. they were painted John Deere green to match the John Deere heads they will haul. the lexions header trailer is black and when we find a 25ft flex head for it, we will buy another one.
For corn harvest we have all the grain trucks running. pushing them to their limits. the GMC single axle got pushed a little to far and spun a rod in the motor. so that truck is out of commision until we can buy another motor for it. but we have the Chevy C-65, Ford F-700, and Dodge 600 working and also the Dodge 900 with the 28ft end dump and the Transtar II with the other end dump. all should be fine.
Here we have the 9630 hooked up to the Wil-Rich Quad 5 getting ready to level out fields going to winter wheat
headin down the road
pulling into the field. the Field cultivator barely clears the wires
unfolding and ready to rumble
and we are off!
The big Field cultivator makes short work of this field.
We are done with this field
The Stone Picker shows up to grab some stones
The 8870 is hooked up to the 3710 8btm plow. we need to hook this up to the Krause TL6200-31 landsman to make the finish pass.
here we are. ready to get this field finished up and sewed into wheat
The Krause hasn't been used in a while, so we will see how it works and hope it stays together
So far its working alright
A few days later, the Drill and Packer show up
The Dodge 900 is on the seed tender and filling the drill up
Sewing wheat 2009
best picture i took in this whole journal. lol
turning on the headland
We are finishing off the Last of Soybeans for 2009. here are some pics of that
The Lexion polishes off a last field out to the East. the 9520 is running the Brent for the time being.
The 9500 works away at the last of the soys back at home
Soybeans are Done! all the equipment was stored away for a few days while we had some heavy rains. now we are ready to begin getting ready for Corn harvest
Taking the grain head off of the 7720.
taken off and ready to be parked till wheat of next year
park it over in the equipment yard until some barn space is available
putting the Corn head on
Putting the corn head on the lexion
all 3 of our machines ready to rock n roll!
First loads of corn come back. yields are looking pretty good.
Ford grain truck with a load of grain
the 9630 gets the 2700 mulch ripper this fall. here is a picture of those two hooked up and ready to go
The 7720 is done on the drill. so the drill is put away for the year.
the 7720 is hooked up to one of the 3600 5 bottom plows. the 7830 will go on the other 5 bottom, the 4240 will be hooked up to the 4btm IH, the 8650 when done carting will be on the 3710 8btm, and the 8870 will be on the 3710 11btm. the 9630 and 9520 will chisel plow this fall.
Thats all for now. ill get pics of corn harvest later.
